Where are the wallpapers stored?

I want to delete some of the wallpapers I do not like so that I can have auto wallpapers with the remaining.

Here's a strange. I re-loaded  Linux Lite to the latest and updated. All was well until I went to use Image Viewer.
It stopped me in my tracks. Both Image Viewer and Shotwell are identical.
No matter what I do if I open Image Viewer, it shows as Shotwell. This has never happened before. while Image Viewer shows up as a different App, it always opens up as Shotwell. What gives?

The following problem: When playing Tankionline.com in the HTML 5 version, this or FF always crashes

it's so that the game ALWAYS runs normally at the beginning, I can play about 2-5 games (7 minutes each) and after that FF ALWAYS crashes or I get kicked out of the game
somehow this must be done with the file/folder:

....firefox - contentproc - childID 1 ..........

...... childID 2 and 3 are also available

are connected because:

One of these " childID " folders starts with 200 to 400 MB when you log in to the game and gets fuller and fuller from game to game (about 7 minutes each) to about 1 to 1.2 GB (according to the task manager). Then the site or Firefox crashes.


Operating system: Linux Lite 3.8 - 32 bit


Since I also have problems with google chrome, it probably seems to be due to Lite?

I've been using Linux Lite on my laptop for over a year. I got an error saying my HDD was going to fail.
I replaced the HDD with an exact same type and loaded the Linix Lite 4.6 AND all of the updates.
Everything boots as it should and connection to the internet is just fine.
I went to download from a 15 Gb USB thumb drive and the laptop does not see the drive in any of the 3 USB ports!
IF, I plug the drive into any of the USB ports and BOOT the laptop the software see's the USB thumb drive!
This has N E V E R been a problem with this laptop running Linux Lite before, it has just started.
I did the Linux Lite System Report and all is well and recognized.
The Dell Self test at boot up also shows nothing wrong.
The Thumb drive IS instantly seen on a Ubuntu and Tower Linux Lite computers with no problems.
There is something not right with my software or settings but I do not know what it may be.

I use the thumb drive with this laptop many times during the day. It has always worked.

I am running Linux Lite 4.4 64bit and would really like to install Linux Lite 4.8. But for some reason when i run the Live CD the machine comes to a halt and just won't budge?

I did try and run the live cd in 'safe mode' and all it did was display an awful lot of errors accompanied by a warning Kernel panic and then stopped as before.

Is it time i started looking for a new desktop pc to replace the old machine i am currently using?
The old machine runs Linux Lite 4.4 without any problems so it would be a shame to get rid of it.

Any help and/or advice would be really appreciated.

I need advice please. I saved LL ISO file and UUI setup utility to 16gb Toshiba Transmemory USB stick, then double clicked the utility to install the ISO to the USB stick. I tried Etcher to no avail. That seamed ok but errors abounded when opening LL.  I  rebooted, ran Memtest, IOS test and rebooted 2-3 more times with updates after each. LL ran smoothly for a while after that. Installing apps created more trouble. While loading some of LL's apps, my internet connection failed and an error occurred. "Error installing software-gnome error. In terminal, type  'dpkg --configure -a'  to correct. After many tries, it said, 'Requested operation requires superuser privilege.'  Failed attempt mostly said 'action command not found.' So, I rebooted.

LL seamed fine after rebooting. Until loading software again. Then, LL froze. I had a movable cursor and menus would open but clicking on menu items gave error messages such as 'Failed execute child process 'exo-open' (input/output error). Clicking Control Panel Icon gave 'Failure to Launch' error. All desktop icons were frozen. Whisker Menu had disappeared. Rt Click on desktop brought up menu with 'Logout' but it was inactive. I found Rt Clicking on #1 or #2 Panels  on right end of task bar would bring up menu with 'Logout'. That brought the blue screen with cursor in upper left.

I held the power button to shut down, ran 'Install Updates' and everything seemed fine. I did some browsing, setup(lost settings with each restart), and typed 'mail.yahoo.com' into Firefox address field. That froze Firefox. I minimized it and it wouldn't minimize. The desktop repeated its behaviour of the previous time. With slight difference like the whisker menu was there and would open, but contents wouldn't. Again, a Rt Click in lower Rt of taskbar produced an active menu. I clicked restart. Got another blue screen. This one the left half is filled with lines of errors. Example: (13562.368912)  SQUASHFS  error:  Unable to read fragment cache entry  (122337fa)
The numbers were actually enclosed by brackets. Now there is a blinking cursor in lower left of screen. Other error say 'unable to read page, block ...

What do you suggest at this point?

Hi all!

New to Linux and in my first week with LL. Like others, very tired of tracking and tracing and data mining and worrying about viruses, identity theft, losing data to updates, uploads, etc.  LL is very refreshing. I didn't know it could feel so good! Thank you all for putting your efforts into such a great project! It is a real service to mankind. I want to extend a special thanks to Jerry for making LL possible. He sounds like a terrific guy!

I wish I could help with the project, but I know little about how they work. I'll promote Linux to others whenever I can. One person has imitated my initiative this week. He chose Ubuntu and it is up and running. Anyway, I'll see you over in the tech department.

I am new to Linux Lite and just installed V4.15. I have a second drive with all my office documents and have it mounted using /etc/fstab as $HOME/Documents. However, Linux Lite also auto mounts it as /media/<username>/<id-xxxxx>.

There is no fstab entry for the /media mount point and I would like to prevent this (and the desktop icon) from appearing. How can I selectively stop Linux Lite from auto mounting certain drives on /media/xxxx ?

FYI - I do like the auto mount and desktop icon for floppies and USB drives so I don't want to completely disable the feature.

I have made a Super Windows 10 from Lite. Basically it just has the Windows 10 Wallpaper. Instructions for installation and setting up are at ginamiller.co.uk/superlite.php

I have made them for Mint 19.2 Mx-19, Ubuntu 18.04, Peppermint and today I made if for Lite 4.8.

Only found out about his distro in a Windows 7 video this morning. I have now added it as it is simply the best distro for migration to Linux from Windoze.

I thought Mint 19.2 was good but the mess in 19.3 leaving Gimp and VLC out with a terminal bug so you cannot load them until you fix the bug. Means that your's is the best distro I have found.

I hope it does well and gets the 34% of distros that Windows 7 has and lifting the 1% linux has.

I will certainly promote it from now on.
