TL;DR: Wifi hotspot on PC disconnects when phone tries to connect to it.
New to Wifi. I bought the following wifi network adapter to make my PC a hotspot for my new smart phone to connect to:
![[Image: 14931641.png]](https://multimedia.bbycastatic.ca/multimedia/products/1500x1500/149/14931/14931641.png)
I could finally make it work by installing the driver from kelebek333 (from the PPA repo).
I created a wifi connection with a method similar to this one. (The IPv4 & IPv6 settings are set to 'shared to other computers')
I can activate the connection successfully, but as soon as I turn the phone on and it tries to connect to the wifi signal, the PC connection drops. Sometimes, it can last for a few seconds, just enough to download some notifications. Sometimes it drops by itself, but I think it is because some of my neighbors' machines try to connect to my wifi signal.
What could be the problem? The driver? The hardware itself? Wrong set-up? Some info about my system:

Hello,
I have just installed a FRESH copy of Linux Lite 5.4 on my laptop. I loved the live USB system so decided to give it a go.
To my dismay this is what I booted into on my first boot (see attached pictures). What is this? I don't remember being asked for a raw Xfce desktop with nothing there. How can I fix this without reinstalling again? If this can't be fixed, Linux Lite is useless for me and I will need to look for another distro. What about those google ads in Firefox that cannot be closed? This surely is weird.
I'm a 16 year + Linux user and never in my life have I had something like that happen on a fresh installation. Can anyone offer suggestions on what went wrong? Thanks.
I can't even attach a photo in this forum.

I enabled the Lite Widget on the 5.4 release but it is displayed almost entirely off-screen. Here is a picture of what is happening.
![[Image: lite-widget.png]](https://i.postimg.cc/BnjNvsn2/lite-widget.png)
What should I do to get the widget readjusted on-screen?
Also, how would I move the widget to the second monitor?
I installed a fresh copy of Linux Lite 5.4 since I was installing a new graphics card (NVIDIA GTX 1070).
I use dual monitors which they worked fine in Linux Lite 4.2 which was my old version I used.
But after this new install, the menu panel is on the second monitor instead of the primary monitor.
I can't find out how to move it. Can anyone help please?
*Edit* Now I found it...it was in panel preferences - Output can choose which monitor to put it on.
Rather than me downloading some software and then fighting with it to work, maybe someone here can recommend a program that will work well with my Samsung Laser jet printer/scanner?
I had luck with GSCAN2PDF with LL 4.0 but not with 5.2.
I will probably upgrade to 5.4. Any suggestions? And if so, the best way to download it?
THANKS
Hi,
Today I did an update, Thunderbird was updated.
Then, I realize that the sound is lost, the volume control pops up frequently, whether I check the configuration in the Manual and run alsamixer I have no idea what is happening.
I upload the report of my system in order to recieve any help.
I could see the sound in the audio control panel and also while I run a test in the terminal with the command:
speaker-test -c 2
Regards
Having just upgraded LL3.8 to LL5.2 without any major issues I have come across one very annoying issue. Despite trying everything I know I am no longer able to freely resize the whisker menu panel i.e. it will resize in height only but not in width.
I prefer to have the smallest possible icons withing this menu and the menu looks now ridiculous with loads of wasted white space and the width of the menu taking up a third of the whole screen. I've never experienced this issue in previous versions of LL where I have always been able to resize this window freely.
Can someone please help me resolve this issue or point out where I am going wrong. TIA

I am using linux Lite. I have installed code Blocks. When i am creating any new project then it is working correctly. it compiling codes. But When any empty c file is creating and trying to compile then it is not working.
Showing message that permission denied. I have checked the compiler setting for empty file. it is GNU GCC Compiler. How can I solve this?
Hello,
I have a silly question. I use Firefox that came with LL. Yet when I go to this forum specially I see two ads on both sides of my screen. How can I remove them? Their VERY annoying.
