Hi, i have windows 10 and linux lite 5.8 over ubuntu 22.04.1 LTS
Every time I do an update, it increases those options.
How can I correct it so that only one linux appears? Thanks.

Of which the point they make about installing to a non-GPT table may clear the air for some folk experiencing installation issues.

Hello, please tell me how to fix this or at least let me know what is going on. Is it just me or is there a problem with the site downloads?

Hello, I need your help.
I installed Linix Lite 6.0 and got everything working so far.
Now I want to make a system backup in case the system fails.
Is that possible with timeshift or do I need a complete backup of my partition?
Many Thanks.

Got this answer... on 2 computers:
Error mounting /dev/sdb2 at /media/tina/TOSHIBA EXT 4TB new: Command-line `mount -t "ntfs" -o "uhelper=udisks2,nodev,nosuid,uid=1000,gid=1000" "/dev/sdb2" "/media/tina/TOSHIBA EXT 4TB new"' exited with non-zero exit status 13: $MFTMirr does not match $MFT (record 0).

NTFS is either inconsistent, or there is a hardware fault, or it's a
SoftRAID/FakeRAID hardware. In the first case run chkdsk /f on Windows
then reboot into Windows twice. The usage of the /f parameter is very
important! If the device is a SoftRAID/FakeRAID then first activate
it and mount a different device under the /dev/mapper/ directory, (e.g.
/dev/mapper/nvidia_eahaabcc1). Please see the 'dmraid' documentation
for more details.
Is this fixable? Someone unplugged it while copying files....Tried it on two different Linuc Lite computers.
If you have an answer, please tell me what to copy paste into the terminal because I am limited in my understanding.
I have tried Gimp, geeqie, and Shotwell.
It looks as though Darktable and ART would support CR3, but I haven't a clue on how to get and install either of them.
A search for the packages came up empty.
any help out there ?
Hi all,
before downloading and installing Linux Lite 6.0 I wanted to run some tests on it making use of distrotest (https://distrotest.net/Linux%20Lite ).
Basically that went well but there´s one thing I don´t quite understand:
When running the command
ubuntu-support-status2117 packages installed
0 receive package updates with LTS until 4/2027
[...]I realize distrotest doesn´t have internet connection enabled but that shouldn´t have anything to do with it ...
... as I ran a distrotest instance for Lubuntu 22.04 as well - for the sake of comparison (https://distrotest.net/Lubuntu ).
The same conditions applied here but I got the following output:
1759 packages installed
1272 receive package updates with LTS until 4/2027
[...]Does anyone have any ideas why the command "ubuntu-support-status" doesn´t seem to work (correctly) with Linux Lite? :022:
Is it the same when using an installed OS?
Thanks a lot for your help in advance.
Many greetings
Rosika :wave
BTW:
I made screenshots but I don´t seem to be able (or allowed) to upload them.
Howdy folks,
I've read Jerry's rules on posting on the forum and have done my best to abide. As a new Linux OS user who's entire computer life personal and in business revolved around Windows, the Linux world is very unfamiliar. I'm not a coder nor have I built computers I'm simply a user who has had to deal with ass wagons with Microsoft when technical issues came up. Those of you who know everything about Linux need to be just a bit less abrasive and a tad more tolerant towards us who are new to the world of Linux because we don't know much. So I ask, when I encounter a problem with what ever it might be that gives me concern what am I to do? It seems that what Jerry is leaning towards is to exhaust all avenues with software, hardware, glitches, updates before coming to the forum to ask a question; I really want to know.
I chose to download the Linux Lite OS after a long and deep search of Linux distros that were light on resources of older machines that took me almost a year, because there are a lot of distros out there. I like Linux Lite for the most part, it runs very well on my laptop and I have it set up to mimic my Windows 7 set up that I am comfortable with, that is the good. The bad is finding a way to get my Canon laser printer to work and it has been a struggle and so I can only use the printer on Windows 7 for now, hopefully in the near future I will find a solution to get it to work. I won't ask any more questions on the forum for now, I will research the problems myself online and search the forum last as i am done with being talked down to.
