You're right. It's not a BIOS issue, it's a Windows issue. It dates back to the days of DOS. Windows runs on 'Local time' and Linux runs on 'UTC'. Read this over & see if it sounds like your problem:

This comes up a lot. Some Linux distro's on install allow you to choose between 'what Linux likes' & 'what Windows likes', when it comes to time zone. Puppy Linux is really good for this on install.
Hi @Ottawagrant
Thank you so much! This solved the problem. I never imagined Windows would affect Linux at this range  ::)  The solution offered here http://www.webupd8.org/2014/09/dual-boot-fix-time-differences-between.html worked like a charm :) I followed the instructions, rebooted and voila! time was displayed correctly! So thanks again for taking the time to answer so I took this pain away from me :)
Without each others help there ain't no hope for us :)

Hi everyone! Hope you're all having a nice life!  ;D Since I've installed Lite 3.6 I've been facing a frustrating issue; time resets after every boot/reboot. I can fix it manually with the time and date app on settings but whenever I reboot the pc time resets all over again meaning the current time displayed is wrong, delayed by hours! I googled it and tried almost any single solution I found; using a ntp server, hwclock, tzdata, timedatectl, and another one I don’t remember, each one seemed to work until I restarted the OS to find time reset again. So, I ask for your assistance in this matter, any advice is really appreciated. Thanks! By the way, I'm dual booting Windows/Linux Lite and this only happens in Lite, so not a bios issue.
