Try "start anew".   Remove the hidden file associated w/ midori.   I don't see .midori - others is it something else?
Then install midori and do everything as before.

sheng-Chieh

Why would he do that if midori doesn't support 256bit SSL?

I had some issues with Midori and have now switched to QupZilla. I find this a fast browser and more compatible with websites.

'HTTPS URLS won't load' explained here - https://wiki.xfce.org/midori/faq LL uses 256bit SSL :p
midori purged :)
It's lightweight but sometimes that's not the best solution.
68.000 lines of code vs milions in Firefox an Chrome can't be compared.
I've also tried Slim Boat but it didn't displayed the LL forums properly.

Try this version of Firefox - https://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/firefox/releases/3.6.13/linux-i686/en-US/firefox-3.6.13.tar.bz2 running at 88mb of ram on Forums vs FF 33 running at 138mb ram on Forums :) Still considered one of the best FF builds ever, I tend to agree. The only drawback is internet technologies have moved on since 2010, so some things may not work as you'd expect.

This is odd.. I just read your comment on using http.
So I opened another tab, and copied the link to this thread.
I removed the "s" so now http, and hit enter, it brought me back here, but with http.
I hit the quote button, and it worked, I have your quote above.
But the url then changed back to a "https"
So How do I keep everything http on LL Forum.?,
I can change it manually to http, but If I click on any link, and it's back to https

gold_finger,
did you mean to post your Gourmet/Recipe message in a Music thread.??

Dave

Yes as gold_finger replied.

The "Quote issue", for this post I tried - "reply" button and then pressed "insert quote" to the right of your post in the main reply editor window, and it doesn't jump to the quick reply box, so is a work around to use the main reply editor and also quote previous posts, if it helps.

I'm using the latest version of midori strait from the PPA
Code: [Select]
sudo apt-add-repository ppa:midori/ppa && sudo apt-get update -qq && sudo apt-get install midoriProblem is not with SSL because midori loads google.com and facebook with encrypted connection
https://www.google.com and https://www.facebook.com/ load fine
Probably CDN issue, or with SSL certificates
As for the forums page It displays it doesn't with http

Some of these Forums quirks did not exist before we started using a CDN. Having the CDN has been of huge benefit as this chart shows in the last 10 days alone, over a year the savings in bandwidth would be staggering:

Would recommend you load the forums with http instead of https. There are not many forums that use SSL including some of the top distros like Mint and Ubuntu (surprisingly). Here at LL it's a bit of a treat tbh :)

It might be an issue with the forum software not recognizing Midori properly -- I don't know.  From that machine, Firefox works on forum site, but not Midori.

Yes -- I did mean to post it there.  Strange place for it I know, but they had briefly detoured onto subject of recipes, so I made quick post about a recipe program I use for bitsnpics, who I thought might want to have a look at it.

Yes, gold_finger, have all the same exact issues. Would really appreciate getting this solved. It is the single issue that prevents me from permanently switching browsers.
