Chrome 94 has begun testing a new API that allows web developers to tap into your computer’s graphics power. The WebGPU API will be especially useful for games that run in the browser. The WebGPU API is a little different than the older WebGL and WebGL2 APIs. The browser can tap into your computer’s native processing technologies, which include Apple’s “Metal,” Microsoft’s “Direct3D,” and the open “Vulkan” standard.
