As a relative newby myself and having tried Manjaro COL as well as some other distros, I would recommend Linux Lite 2.0 https://www.linuxliteos.com/ instead. Manjaro COL is great but I would not recommend any rolling release for a newby.

Spatry did some great videos on Linux Lite but here are some newer ones by Puppy Linux.

There is also a friendly and helpful forum https://www.linuxliteos.com/forums/ especially for Linux Lite.

Easy install and no partitioning is required.
