Well, my single core intel atom n270 netbook  with 1 gig of ram does not crash or exhibit any problems like your 8 core cpu and 1 gig of ram gear does. So maybe crash is hardware instead of software. 10 minutes is long enough to for equipment to get hot and just shut down out of old age.

ok im very confuse - sudo comand and lite software center wouldnt work but Synaptic package work????????
