My .02
I installed BETA to a desktop along with 2.8 - I still run 2.8 for the majority...
On the Mini - I upgraded to a SSD and since it was a new HD I figured LL3.0 was the best route..
I have noticed a few minor things in the plus and minus columns, nothing as a just gotta have or a show stopper thou.
3.0 does seem to boot faster, it maybe that I've been using the mini more but I guess I could time it on the desktop..
For other benefits, see the 1st page of
https://www.linuxliteos.com/forums/release-announcements/linux-lite-3-0-final-released/ On the other side; having to set everything back up..
Apps, hardware/drivers, tweaks and modification to settings and apps; apps that have changed/updated that may not work as well as before (Conky is an example, not a LL issue) and XYZ to get back to an as it was before state..
Update if your ready to take on the task or as mentioned 2.8 is still supported
