I think they mean, just trying to access files on their phone whilst it's attached to their pc via USB?
Try changing the storage mode on the phone. We support MTP out of the box. or use a more complete phone manager like Airdroid.

Are you using cell phone or tablet storage to hold the Linux Lite installation media?  If so, instead download the image file to a computer, then burn the image file to a USB flash drive or DVD.  See this link for the Installation Guide.  It'll provide step by step instructions with photos.

I just installed the latest LinuxLite 3. I plugged in my Nexis 7 and am able to mount it but am unable to view the contents. It says 0 items in thunar. What do I need to do to get this to work? I believe I have MTP installed.
