Laptop has an SSD, my internet speed is 200mbit/sec up and download. I only use windows for my ancestry research. At the moment stuck at ancestors from 1605
A Timeshift restore wouldnt be a bad idea either, restore qoukd be even quicker
Hehe!Yeah... thats one of the main reason I'm using Linux now. I just don't have HOURS to reinstall an OS.I have slow "high-speed" internet at home so downloading updates to Windows, specially 10 is a few gigabytes now.I'll have to download an updated media (again) next time. Also, you need an SSD with Windows 10, otherwise updates are sloooow.Cheers!
More than likely the way you shut down Windows or boot LL is the problem. NEVER select restart from Windows and then select LL from grub. After using Windows, when you shut down press and hold the shift key down before selecting shutdown in Windows and hold it continuously down until the computer goes off. Next time you have the problem boot into Windows and shut down that way, then boot LL and run manual fsck. Shouldn't have to reinstall LL just because Windows is not shutting down all the way, which is what's happening.TC
