Thank you but i have try'd that and got the errors that i have listed.
I think i have solved it now.
I was trying to update via the linux lite control centre and was getting the error, but i just try'd with the terminal with this code i got from the forum...sudo apt-get update
This seems to have updated the system. :)

Follow the link at the very top of the page to get rid of this error.

Be sure to select 32 bit for your system.

Jocklad.

Hello,
every time i do an update i get this error....
couldn't fetch the package cache information lists
I only run firefox and is a new install.
I have only installed skype and no other software, my linux lite is a fresh install and is 32bit linux 3.19.0-33-generic
I have try'd the chrome error thing and got these results.
rm: cannot remove ‘/etc/apt/sources.list.d/google-chrome.list’: No such file or directory
And
 Unable to locate package google-chrome-stable
And
sed: can't read /etc/apt/sources.list.d/google-chrome.list: No such file or directory
And
sed: can't read /opt/google/chrome/cron/google-chrome: No such file or directory
I try'd the google chrome fix as i read on the forum you need to do this fix even if you have not got chrome installed.
Any help please?.
Thank you.
