Hello!

You're welcome. I'm always happy to help folks out around here whenever possible.

Having a number of different machines that all use Linux Lite gives me the ability to test updates in a wide variety of real-world environments. VMs are fine and dandy, but there's nothing quite like the real thing...

Hi Rob,
Thank you for advise!!!
I just mustered all my courage (after completion a full backup) and followed exactly your advice.
It went perfectly without having any issues !!!

Hello!

I'm not sure exactly what you're trying to say, but I'll take a stab at it anyway.

https://www.linuxliteos.com/forums/release-announcements/linux-lite-2-4-final-released/

Code: [Select]
sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get install lite-upgrade-series2 -y
and then, Menu > Settings > Lite Upgrade.

I have upgraded several machines this way with no issues, but you COULD back up your /home directory first, I suppose...

The 'new on-board upgrade feature' seems to have some hiccups to upgrade an existing version and to take care about the home directory. Perhaps only the help-text is imprecise...
So please advice what's the working procedure to upgrade 2.2 > 2.4 if there is any yet or to come soon!?
Are there any consideration regarding a 'Rolling Release'?
