there were more updates in the Ubuntu updater. Lite software is silly OK. It is empty. I would like a really like a graphical software center and do not say there is synaptic. It is too advanced. Plus my question is if it will overwrite LL with Ubuntu?

More updates? For what? Only you can answer that? How should we know? Will it overwrite LL. Of course. Backup and then hit the button and find out if really wanting to explore the details.  Or run vanilla Ubuntu maybe?

I run a systemd free distro that requires me to disable apt pinning for something like a pulseaudio or pauvcontrol instead of using alsa for sound.
I am well versed in distro dynamics when it comes to special linux versions like Linux-Lite.

And no. I do not run Ubuntu PPA's in my systemd free operating system because I like the bling in another distro. All linux distros are not built the same and all packages are not installed in the same locations. Linux-Lite is very compatible with Ubuntu 14.04 LTS. But certain parts are tailored to Linux-Lite only and you have picked 2 that are hard wired into the distro. Just like Zorin or Mint Linux.

OK, Number one What is that video. Number 2 I found out how to remove that error.

To fix it, type in Software and Updates and click the search, Click on updates, set Notify me of a new Ubuntu version to Never and type in your password

Yes that is a solution for the Ubuntu software manager. (Which is not supported by LinuxLite.)
However the issues that may arise from using the Ubuntu Software Updater----we can not foresee.

I always uncheck that as a "after first boot" checklist.
Here are some links for you, just be aware they are for Ubuntu, not LinuxLite specifically. I have had some success at getting other things working on LinuxLite.

I was going to stay out of this thread because we have stated many times in the past not to use Ubuntu updater. I need to address the OP directly. If you use something that we don't recommend you use, do not expect support for it. The fact that you're wanting to install 15.10 in an LTS is even more disturbing. Not being rude, I just need you to take this seriously.

Let me sort things out here. The Ubuntu updater is better because I ran lite-updates and there were more updates in the Ubuntu updater. Lite software is silly OK. It is empty. I would like a really like a graphical software center and do not say there is synaptic. It is too advanced. Plus my question is if it will overwrite LL with Ubuntu?

Quantify why the Ubuntu SW updater is better, saying it has more updates is irrelevant. There is no justification for your statement.  Ubuntu has a different approach to SW updating than LinuxLite. Linux distro's are not a 1 to 1 comparison between distributions. There are different software packages installed between LL and Ubuntu, which could be why you see "more updates". LinuxLite is just that, minimal, and less complicated.

If you are trying to make LinuxLite more than what it is, then you take risks as detailed in--->

Please read/search the forum..

Its ill-advised to use Ubuntu's software updater... Know what issues may arise doing so..

Here's a couple to get you started:
https://www.linuxliteos.com/forums/suggestions-and-feedback/one-wish-for-linux-lite-2-2/msg7220/#msg7220

https://www.linuxliteos.com/forums/other/dealing-with-unwanted-updates/msg20656/#msg20656

I have successfully installed many software packages using synaptic. If you are not finding what you need/want in the LL software than you then take it upon yourself to go on that journey. It is outside of what is standard on LinuxLite. If you have a need for something more, make suggestions, donate time, donate money and put some effort into your requests.
If you want Ubuntu styled, themed, gui software manager than install Ubuntu, and take themes/xfce from LL and put in your Ubuntu install. There are several ways to approach your issue, I have outlined a couple solutions above. Good luck.

I recently installed the Ubuntu Software Center on Linux Lite as Lite Software is horrible (I would love the Ubuntu Software Center to be built in  LL, or at least an option in the installer). When I installed it, it also installed the Ubuntu Update Manager (which I also find better than lite-updates and every time I update using the Ubuntu Update Manager I get the following message:

My question is, is it safe or will it overwrite LL with Ubuntu?

What exactly has you with a "horrible" experience with Linux Lite sw center ? (I assume it is the available options and software choices available. )
I have used it and it works, however the selection of software is basic, mostly to keep thing simple for the end user. I use synaptic sometimes.
I have never had an issue with synaptic package manager, it is antiquated in that searching isn't intuitive as Ubuntu's sw center.
However I think Jerry is going for a more simplistic approach, yet if you make suggestions he will listen and adjust accordingly if they are justified.
I would make suggestions for the Lite software application. Submit what you want on there, and maybe a poll to see how many others would like the same options that you do.

Ubuntu Software Center messes thing up in LL, so don't install that.
This quote alone would keep me from installing... But that's me.. And if it was me, like rokytnji mentioned make a backup so that you can revert back.. It may not break this week or next or ever...

And Ubuntu Updater and 15.10...
In all likelihood, the Ubuntu updater is causing the problem.  Although LL is based on Ubuntu, that doesn't mean that utilities built specifically for the Ubuntu operating system will work seamlessly for distros that use Ubuntu as their base.  Ubuntu updater is built specifically for Ubuntu; Mint Updater is built specifically for Mint (even though it's also based on Ubuntu); LL updater is built specifically for LL; etc.

But it is yours to do how you like..

I did not have any problems with the Ubuntu one and the Lubuntu one is quite dull.

Backup 1st. You will probably/will break something. But me, being a loosey goosey computer user. I'd hit the OK button just to watch the fireworks.

I see soo many wrong moves in this thread. But I am curious, because I like watching train wrecks and motorcycle crashes.
