Rob,     Oh good information to know !  ( sudo apt-get install linux-firmware-nonfree)
All this time i have been doing it the hard way.
Maybe this is in the Help Manual ?
I haven't checked yet if it is in the help manual, be a great one to add in for this particular issue if it's not.

Hello!

You will have to install some Broadcom firmware first. Using a cable or a USB wireless adapter that IS in the kernel, type this:

Code: [Select]
sudo apt-get install linux-firmware-nonfree
This should get your Broadcom wireless adapter going...

Hello!

Whatever works, I suppose. If you ever want to go back to your internal adapter, all you need to do is to install the package I mentioned and reboot...

Was a md5sum check done by you on your Linux-Lite iso download file?
Thanks for your help, I will just be using an external adapter. I found a spare one that works fine.

Hi,

Try pressing "F2" or "FN+F2" to see if the Wireless switches "ON"

Also,
Left click the "Network Icon" in the system tray near the clock
Check to see if "Enable WiFi" is ticked.?

Check that the wireless is not disabled in the BIOS, this is somewhat common. Also, please post a screenshot of the Install Drivers window.

The easiest way I have found when wifi card is not auto detected is to-->

Connect a Ethernet/LAN cable to the computer so you have a network connection active, run updates.
Then disconnect when updates have finished, and REBOOT.
If you can see Wifi networks it worked. If not then further investigation is required, possibly windows drivers.
There are sever guides to get it working on Ubuntu, however some Wifi cards are problematic.
I have the same card on my Dell, but run different distros, I will try installing LL and see if it works.....

ok, I managed to install it without connection. Now I would like to get the wifi working. What do you suggest? The wifi control light is off and my computer has no physical switch. Thanks
