Yeah, all third tic boxes are malfunctioning on my rig.   Darn dyslexia!

right click on the Desktop > Desktop preferences (or whats it called in engish ^^')

Uncheck this one:


Should work.

Removing them from Thunar is simple.  I can also delete the cache (s) found in my home directory - but that doesn't stick.

How can I delete / prevent them permanently from the desktop?    thanks,  -E
