You can see where I put mine. I just point the Desktop Settings in right click on Desktop to my Wallpaper folder I made in /home/username and grab mine from there.

I leave  /usr/share/backgrounds/xfce/ alone, unchanged.

Only in MacPup Puppy linux do I download and save extras in /usr/share/backgrounds since Puppy runs in root anyways, (which is not a problemo for me).

That worked fine and was easy.  I thought I read that the wallpaper had to come from the xfce folder.  I guess not.  The last time I tried Linux (Ubuntu 12.04), every time I'd load a wallpaper, most of the text (both in Ubuntu and the rest of my programs like Firefox) became corrupt.  I'd have to reboot to get them right.  I'd also get a bunch of random images (from my computer) that would replace the desktop wallpaper.  Nobody could tell me why that happened.  I guess we'll see if it happens in LL.

Hi Monkeyman.

I believe the default location for backgrounds is /usr/share/backgrounds/xfce/, of course you're free to put them anywhere you like.

Take a look at this post:

Do I have to do something special to the pics first?  I just d/l'ed some from Scotts list I'd like to use.
You don't have to do anything to the pictures specifically but depending on the location they're copied, you may need admin rights. There's a post in the link above that covers this.

Let me know how it goes.

Little late to the game.  So, any pics/wallpapers I put in that folder, I can use?  Do I have to do something special to the pics first?  I just d/l'ed some from Scotts list I'd like to use.

TIA

Just downloaded wallpapers, but can you tell me where Linuxlite stores its wallpaper files. I looked in /usr/share/backgrounds but nothing in there.
