DO NOT SUBMIT ANY REQUESTS OR TRANSLATIONS YET - WE ARE BUILDING OUT THIS SECTION OVER TIME AND IT IS CURRENTLY INCOMPLETE
THANK YOU.

We're finding that many people are contacting us wanting to contribute translations, but when faced with the process of using a service like Transifex, they are unable to understand the steps involved due to a lack of programming and code knowledge and ability.

We want to open this process up to as many people as possible, from all walks of life and from all backgrounds and abilities.

So, we decided to create this Template for people to make it easier to help Linux Lite to be more understandable to the community.

How do I ask for my Language to be included in Linux Lite?

As of June 2023, we are translating the following items only:

Desktop Icons - ie. This PC, User Files, Network, Control Panel, Help Manual
Right Click Menus
Linux Lite Application Menu entries - eg. Lite Software
My Computer Menu entries - Menu, My Computer and then the various folder names ie. File System, Home, Documents, Downloads, Music, Pictures, Public, Templates, Videos
Favorites Menu entries - Menu, Favorites - Install Updates, Help Manual
Home Folder Names - ie. Desktop, Documents, Downloads, Music, Pictures, Public, Templates, Videos
General Menu entries: These are mostly handled by the application developers themselves, but you are free to submit your changes anyway. If they don't make it into our translations, then it is a bet that it needs to be handled by the original developer.

Future Translations:

All Linux Lite built and branded applications, eg. Lite Software, Lite Tweaks etc.

How to submit a request to have your Language translated:

NOTE: ONLY translate the bolded text.

Language: My Language here

Linux Lite translations required.
Please copy and paste the following to a new reply in this thread and replace the English words with your language.

Example submission for the Filipino language:

Name[XX]=Ang PC na ito

replace This PC with your translated text.

Comment[XX]=Ang PC Desktop Icon na ito

replace This PC Desktop Icon with your translated text.

CAUTION: Do all of your work in a text or word editor first, before posting here. Imagine if you'd spent hours replying tho this thread, only to have the Forum crash, or a timeout or anything! Not good right? Use a text or word editor first :)
