Rob is correct as usual. Even someone like me, who is not a newb but far from an expert, can't find and answer in the forum or elsewhere because he can't word his question correctly for a search. There is always help on this forum. Often it is a link to what you were searching for.  :)

Just wanted to say that i'm of the same opinion as the OP. Sometimes experienced users forget to mention stuff that to them are very obvious but to a new user it becomes a stumbling block as he/she will overlook that step.

I haven't read all the tutorials on the forum so forgive me if they are all detailed even for a newbie to understand.

Hello!

Welcome to Linux Lite, the LL community, and your first recognition point.

One thing this place ISN'T is one of those snobby forums where everyone looks down on you like you're one inch high! After all, EVERYONE here was a 'n00b' at one time or another, and we ALL learn new things from each other here all the time.

HERE, the only stupid question is the one you don't ask...

First Welcome aboard..
You're on the right path - Linux Lite is user friendly especially for windoze refugees like us  ;D and there are LOTS here.

Setting somethings up will need terminal others not so much, give it sometime and it'll become second nature.

Searching from the main forum page, bookmarking useful threads and ask away - if its not going smooth post back - its a good bunch of folks here.

Somethings to look at:
The Help Manual - Lots of good info
Systemback - Similar but better than Windows Restore Point - Especially useful to backup prior to making changes.
Install Drivers (type from menu) it will check if any additional drivers were found.
LL4.8 UEFI 64 bit ASUS E402W - AMD E2 (Quad) 1.5Ghz  - 4GB - AMD Mullins Radeon R2
LL5.8 UEFI 64 bit Test UEFI Kangaroo (Mobile Desktop) - Atom X5-Z8500 1.44Ghz - 2GB - Intel HD Graphics
LL4.8 64 bit HP 6005- AMD Phenom II X2 - 8GB - AMD/ATI RS880 (HD4200)
LL3.8 32 bit Dell Inspiron Mini - Atom N270 1.6Ghz - 1GB - Intel Mobile 945GSE Express  -- Shelved
BACK LL5.8 64 bit Dell Optiplex 160 (Thin) - Atom 230 1.6Ghz - 4GB-SiS 771/671 PCIE VGA - Print Server
Running Linux Lite since LL2.2

Could I suggest a section for total Newbs to ask questions that are probably second nature to experienced users.
The "how to/tips" section helps, but takes a lot of things for granted on the use of Linux, ie; terminal commands and how to install different software packages or find settings..
LinuxLite seems to be an easy replacement for Windows on older systems (I am moving from XP), so possibly a lot of new linux users.
Members answering questions could keep that in mind and give more detailed directions (and patience).

Just a thought

Al
