Wi-Fi card not recognized AC 3168
#1
Good day all. First time I use a forum to get support, hopefully I’ll get it right.
I have installed Linux lite 3.6 on my PC on dual boot with Win 10. It seems to run well but it doesn't recognize the WI-FI adapter card. (by the way the WI-FI card works well in Win 10) The icon on the bottom right shows the disconnection and obviously it doesn't detect any Wi-Fi. Is there anyone out there able to help? I read all the previous posts but nothing seems to work for my case or some of them are a bit too technical.

Please keep in mind also that I am a ship crew member, therefore I am unable to plug via LAN the PC to a router therefore the only option I have is the Wi-Fi connection.

Here below some PC specs:
Model: HP 255 G6
Card: Intel dual band wireless -AC 3168
CPU: AMD E2-9000e radeon r2, 4 compute cores 2c+2c
1500mhz

Ok thanks. Got it.
I tried but it is asking me to be connected to the internet which obviusly I can't.........I am writing all this posts in Win10 and I switch back and forth from Lite to Win10.

........any other option or should I just wait to try to find a router and connect by LAN to see if it working and eventually update the kernel??????

Ok thanks.........I have to wait till May then. I am a crew member onboard a commercial ship and we don't have routers onboard. Everything is on Wi-Fi...................Anyhow thank you. I will still use Lite, it works well and I start to enjoy it. I am sure once I solve the issues of the Wi-Fi I will enjoy even more.
Take care........... Smile
