Writing a post problem
#1
I have noticed that sometimes when I and others make a POST  the font size is very tiny and contains a lot of of Formatting information that was not there when the post was submitted.

If I copy and paste some text within the post -- the font size gets changed during the process  the only way that works for me to get it the correct size is  to "Paste as Plain Text"(ie -with no formatting)

Thinking about this is it possible to make sure that only Plain Text can be allowed to be pasted into forum post writing .

Yes, It happens to me also.

Just before I post, and in preview, I select/highlight (ctr+a) all the text and in the Font Size box I select 10
Then post/save

Colin,
I see as of lately a string of similarities and trouble with keystrokes and or the representation of...

When posting lets see if we can get a common denominator.. Whats used, running, in use, etc. what info can be supplied to derive a baseline?
What browser and version? Modified settings? Dev tools? Add-on?
Do you run a type of "shortkeys" or quick keys application, I've see these not only affect typed, but functionality of applications..

Example - During this post I'm on my Dell Mini, Firefox 41.0.2 no additional add-ons.. western encoding..

Reaching out, with the recent issues posting and passwords.. Seems something additional maybe occurring..

I post from 2 different LL and Win7 PC's and Android phone most commonly...

If the post is jumbled is a reply as well? Does copy/paste into/from leafpad correct? it will strip formatting (similar to note pad)...

If you recall back when trying to reset the Windows password the "-" was being misinterpreted....

Its a thought

As the above eludes to, there will be some kind of common anomaly that cause's this for a few people. The trick is, identifying it Smile

I've definitely seen this in operation here. I think some script bugaboo is behind it.

Hi,

From recollection/experience:
1. It's not every post, I'm typing this in "Quick Reply", and "not" going to preview.
2. I have noticed this usually after, typing in the "quick reply", then realising I want to emphasise something, so select preview, and then "mark it up".
3. I then decide to preview "again" , I think that's when I've noticed it..??

Running what ever the latest "Chrome" is.
During this post I "only" have chrome running, 6 tabs open, inc LL Forum on 1.

Hi All
thanks for your interest

I am using Chrome - Version 46.0.2490.80

I most often only have Chrome  in use ( cannot Multitask  - only 2 brain cells left - power supply faulty)

The problem was posted out of interest . It is not normally a problem with me - now I know how to paste text . I don't often use preview . When I am writing a Post I only see the Font is changed but not the Formatting info until it is Posted

It's happened to me that when I've imposed the <code> tag on existing text, the text immediately following was changed to the size of a decimal point. And I've seen other tags injected as well. I only see this on this forum. I'm on Slimjet, a Chromium derivative.

Please see the new thread here: https://www.linuxliteos.com/forums/other/file-search/. I've left it as it is to show the problem, and it also states what was done. Something is wrong with the <code> tag.

I use Slimjet. I just tested this with Vivaldi (also a chromium browser), with the same reversed tag, font-size changed results:
