Are you sure you copied and pasted the complete output from the command ?
Yes. I attach a zipped photo, as it seems i cannot attach a jpeg or png..

The photo shows that the text copied and pasted earlier was truncated.
Providing incorrect information does not help anyone.

My last suggestion is to upgrade to Linux Lite7.8

I checked again. I see that the last few words were missing in the copy-paste. Sorry!
I doubt that this audio issue will be solved with 7.8, as the issue was there with 8.0, which I tried before.
When I wanted to try 7.8, the boot USB did not boot.
Well, I may as well try to install 7.8 again.

PS: I tried the following.
- 7.8 : Bootable USB did not boot.
- 7.6 : Bootable USB did not boot.
- 7.2 : Bootable USB did boot. So, I checked where you told me to check. Earphone is shown "unplugged" whereas it is plugged. (I checked this in live. I did not install.)

To make bootable USB, I used rufus-4.15p under Windows 10.

By the way, if I had an issue like this with Windows, I would change the audio driver and test. I don't know much about Linux, but is it possible to change the audio driver? As 5.8 doesn't have this issue, I could downgrade the audio driver to the version used in 5.8??? Well, that's just a thought...

The most likely reasons for a live boot media failing to boot the system are probably related to preparing the USB drive. Ensure the ISO is downloaded from a legitimate source and that the downloaded ISO checksum is verified before flashing the USB.

It is also possible to carry out an 'in series' upgrade to move from 7.0 to 7.8 without doing a fresh installation.

Yes, there is absolutely nothing concrete to suggest that moving to 7.8 will resolve this specific issue.

However in general, 7.8  may be considered 'better' than 7.0 - see the release notes for headlines.

Making sure you have the latest drivers is a valid approach for current hardware.

The complication is that the driver snd-hda-intel is part of the linux kernel and you would likely need an older kernel for your older hardware.  Linux Lite version 5.8 is out of support and should not be used.
Linux Lite 6.x might be worth a shot but has limited life (April 2027).

My suspicion is that the problem may related to the Sound Server rather than the driver.  However, the Sound Server is also part of the kernel so we are in the same loop.

Thank you very much for your explanations. I am beginning to understand a little.

I have always downloaded from an official server in Germany, and this time I checked md5 checksum before making a bootable USB for 7.8. Still, it did not boot. ("Welcome" one second and it shuts down..) It is very strange.

6.6 bootable USB booted. So, I checked the status of my earphone plugged. It said "unplugged". So, it seems 5.8 is the latest version that detects my earphone.

If no later version works, it is better to switch to 7.8. So, I clicked "Lite upgrade", but it said "You are running the latest version"... Isn't it the way to series upgrade?

It sounds like something must be booting to give you a Welcome screen, but why it would then shut down is unknown.

Again, that sounds strange if you are running the 7.0 installed system.

If you want to diagnose further, begin by opening a terminal and running these commands to show what version is running.
Code:
uname -a
Code:
inxi -S
Code:
cat /etc/llver
and post back all the output.

Well, what I meant by "did not boot" is that the system did not boot up to Live system with a big welcome screen with different action buttons. Actually, the bootable USB tries to boot and displays just two lines on a black screen. The 1st line is "Welcome" and the 2nd line is "grub" something, maybe starting grub or booting grub, and the PC shuts down and restarts to boot up in a loop.

Anyway, in the mean time, I tested 7.4, and as it booted, I went ahead and installed it. So, I am now trying to configure it. I think 7.4 is "good enough". So, I will stop here for the moment.

Thank you again for all your help, and for the explanations you gave me!

Well, I just wanted to report this.
I went ahead and installed Linux Lite 7.4 in my other PC (Thinkpad T430s), which I have always thought has almost the same hardware as X230, and to my great surprise, my earphone is detected, and the sound switching between the speakers and the earphone works!!
I checked the audiomixer, and it says Headphones (plugged)!!
So, there may be a way to solve the problem with X230.I may simply have to reinstall..
