after install Linux Lite 7.6 problem with Google Chrome
#11
I installed new 6.8.0-87-generic with chroot, now Chrome doesn't crash xfce, however ugly 1024x768* Display without any options and what is a special problem no internet. So I need "Intel PRO/Wireless 3945ABG firmware-iwlwifi " driver, eth Intel PRO/100 VE, Display Driver. I tried to download wifi 3945ABG with .deb, unsuccessfully. It was easier with the windows, but I don't want to go back anymore

If you get chance, check to see if firefox has hardware acceleration on or off.
In firefox, open Settings and scroll down to Performance.
If hardware acceleration is on, maybe try watching video with it disabled.

Sorry for the pause, it's about my health. My experiment with chrooting and changing the kernel version ended in the same thing, so I installed LL7.4. Now everything works except Download, which crashes when I log out. Okay, if I need this feature, I'll do it in the terminal.
Sincerely,
Valeri

It wasn't clear to me what you were trying to do.

Not sure what you mean here but it sounds like you have a workaround.
Please provide more information if you want help.

Thank you. I agree, my explanation is unclear. With LL7.4, I have an OS compatible with my hardware, and Chrome works, but the "Download" feature: as soon as I start an online download, the OS crashes and I have "log out". Everything else is fine for both the OS and Chrome (with LL7.6, any launch of any browser crashed with log out). But now I also bypass the "Download" feature in Chrome: I can use all Chrome functions as a guest or change account. However, since my Google account works fine for all other devices and programs, including LL7.4 and its Google Chrome, and only the "Download" feature in Chrome does not work, if I need to download something, I use the browser as a guest. I think this is the behavior of my hardware with a SATA SSD, which does not support the "Download" feature in Chrome only. I think it is a matter of acceleration, but why does it work in guest mode under the same conditions? Thanks again for your help. Now, as you said, I have a workaround.
Sincerely,
Valeri
