Ubuntu LTS 18.04.3 includes kernel 5 by default. Why isn't it present by default in Linux Lite 4.6 if it is based on that version of Ubuntu?
Why not kernel 5?

Hello!
Is anybody there?... there... there... there... Is there any good reason why LL 4.6 didn't upgrade to kernel 5 like Ubuntu/Xubuntu?

If we ship the latest kernel with every release, we lose support for older hardware. This is why the decision was made to provide all kernel versions separately, up to and including the very latest.

Thank you for your answer, Jerry. If I install kernel 5 in LL 4.6, will I have same version upgrades of this kernel and at the (more or less) same pace as Ubuntu/Xubuntu?
