Well, we better complete these tests... I'm gonna fire up a 3.0 machine next cos' we just ran into an issue wit the latest update:
https://www.linuxliteos.com/forums/insta.../#msg31155 ( I have committed a fix to master already - check the files exist before applying permissions).

... which confirms my suspicions that not all files were being copied during upgrades... it is the only explanation for / etc/skel/.conky/start and updates not to exist in these user's installs.

Edit: Testing lite-upgrade from 3.0 now...

One of the smoothest upgrades ever... from 3.0 to 3.4. The only "error" I got was from:

http://downloads.sourceforge.net/corefonts/arial32.exe  <= fails to download... sourceforge is HTTPS only
https://cytranet.dl.sourceforge.net/proj...efonts/the fonts/final/arial32.exe <= The HTTP server sent an invalid Content-Range header (likely because wget cannot verify the certificate).

We can "fix" this which is a very old failure actually by:

1- Downloading from HTTPS sourceforge ignoring the certificate with wget
2- Download from a different source; e.g.: http://ftp.de.debian.org/debian/pool/con....6_all.deb

Another issue. Lite Welcome is not updated correctly to latest version. It did this on both archs:

I had the lite widget installed to test the upgrade so that's why it didn't trigger the error for me.

By default in 3.0 / etc/skel/.conky folder does not exist and that triggered the error for you. I have confirmed this issue in 3.0 and I have also addressed it already (will push to master after my 3.0 upgrade completes without errors).

I need for you to help me debugging these things Jerry.
