Kiosk Mode tweak proposal
#21

That was an excellent catch. Indeed, we can't ignore that the distro aims to attract new users and introduce them to Linux in the most simplistic way... anytime we don't follow such reality we are loosing sight of what Lite stands for. Thank you for staying aware. I just couldn't find a way to say it differently "not realizing" that I was missing the point in the naming.

Adjustments made, some cosmetic, some rewording:

Introduced some spacing to separate the two sections.

May I suggest:

1- Name it "Login and Session Options" instead. It describes the options better I believe.
2- The blank spaces makes look disproportionated. Perhaps a different approach could be to remove the orange power button all together and center the text as before.
3- The green and red icons were shown only for the setting in effect to visually let the user know which option was currently active. Showing both at the same time does not hint as to what setting is currently in effect.
4- Wording:

X Disable - Disables save session option (I believe this option ENABLES save session) so, we will need to reword the text and switch the assigned images for Enable and Disable Save Session around.

Here, now that I have a better idea thanks to your changes, would you like me to take over again and redo it on my end?

Thanks Ralphy.

1. I like that name, consider it done.
2. I disagree with that assessment. I did try the blank icon with centered text and imo, it looked worse. I want a clear distinction here of the 2 separate options people have.
3. This new look is quite deliberate. There needs to be an icon placeholder here of some type. Before, the app looked incomplete with a blank icon. Perhaps a better representation of Enable and Disable is needed.
4. An error at my end, I'll change via commit.

I understand your position and it is fine with me for you to ultimately decide what goes into Linux Lite; I'm sure you have the best interest for end users  :)

My recommendations are not only opinion based. I'm trying to find the sweet spot by taking your good ideas into account and mixing them up a little. For example, I was thinking more of the following (but I'm not seeing the code changes you've made so I may be completely wrong just because I don't see what you're seeing :) )

The title suggestion was based on the fact that the three first options have nothing to do with the Login Screen but with the Login Options:

And the last two power options descriptions do not match their functionality - Which enables and disables the Power Option button on the login screen (including shutdown, restart, etc.)

Irrespective, something has changed in Ubuntu base with the latest updates - I just noticed that the first three options no longer work in its current code for whatever reason. Neither in LL 3.2 or LL 3.4 Beta. I'll leave it at that anyways now that you have taken over this. Cheers!

Ralphy, I haven't 'taken over this'. I consider all of our code work a collaboration. We've both contributed to outstanding apps that the community enjoys, and rarely if ever, complain about. Go ahead and submit your changes according to your latest screenshots, with the additional 'Login and Session Options' wording. I'll pull down and test tomorrow. Cheers :)

Just in case Jerry, I did not say you "took over" in a mean way... maybe I should have wrote "working on this" Irrespective, what I wanted to get to you was not to overwrite each others work. When you are taking the initiative I do not want to hold you back  :D even less to overwrite your efforts! The wording can always be adjusted back and forth and at the end we come up with agreed solutions as always. The code is Linux Lite's once it goes to Master and once there it is shared under GPL, so ideas, changes and improvements are to be expected. I'm cool with that bro! Besides, it wound't get any better if it wasn't because of your input. Just saying.

Good stuff Ralphy. FYI I have this Monday and Tuesday off, so I'll be building the final 3.4 ISO's Tuesday night. So I'm aiming to have our apps complete before then.

Ok Jerry, here is a newer working version tested in 3.4B and 3.2. Took your layout and buttons ideas. Hope you like it!

Now we can discuss the wording all we want if the layout fits the bill  ;D  - the functionality is there  :)

Will wait for your opinion before pushing it up agin.
