Make sure all content in the page, including scripts, stylesheets, and images, are from HTTPS sources.

It seems there is some context that doesn't get pushed through SSL for Edge (or at least it sees it as such). The page loads fine as long as non-secured context is not displayed cos' Edge browser will refuse to load the page otherwise by its default security configuration options.

To be more precise, it is the MDL2 font what doesn't get served over SSL for Edge browser and makes the browser loop in an infinite load because Edge refuses to display the context.

I looked at the transactions between the site and my end on my squid proxy and there is no malware driven redirector or anything alarming on the requests.

Found the offending code. I had some extra code that worked with the adblock detector in the < body > tag. Should be fine now.
