Disable Session Save
#1

[member=2]Jerry[/member]

I ran into a little inconvenience with Linux Lite => Session Save and Shutdown options.

In the logout dialog of Xfce, users can enable saving the session. But that's generally a little problematic, especially for beginners with Linux Lite because all open applications will be restarted automatically upon each login. My wife actually had some headache with it and it doesn't surprise me if we find other users running into the same problem.

To prevent this issue from happening again, I disabled Session Save and removed the option from the logout window.

So, I propose a new Lite Tweak-super to "Disable Session Save" with the following options:

- Disable Session Save for everyone (prevents all users from saving sessions thus removes the button from the Logout window.

- Disable Session Save for non administrators only (prevents all users except sudoers from saving sessions, thus shows the button in the Logout window only for sudoers. (please ignore the missing buttons in the screenshot below. I'm planning on adding yet another tweak to disable those buttons since some machines do not support hibernate or maybe the administrator prefers only Suspend and not Hibernate... more on this later for a different chat).

- Enable Session Save for everyone

Your thoughts?

Can the save session on the logout window be made to apply to current session only and get automatically disabled on next login?

Sometimes i need to logout just to keep prying eyes away from whatever im doing and i always forget to disable save session afterwards.

I would re-word 'Session Save' to 'Save Session' as per the actual dialogue. Looks good Ralphy.

[member=2]Jerry[/member] I reworded it as suggested. I'll be merging it into Lite Tweaks later. I decided to keep it simple and not to add the screenshot to the dialog interface. It takes too much space and makes it look kind of "old".

You may want to consider adding a "Manage Save Sessions"  Help section. Disabling save sessions is a feature that many users on the net seem to go after o_O ... I guess it is because the little mess it creates. Preview here:

Speaking of YAD... yad is not installed by default in LL 3.2. So, we have to add a check somewhere and install yad if we are planning on adding this and other tweaks to lite-tweaks. Suggestions?
