Before I buy a laptop, I check every spec, that way you can't blame Linux if your computer doesn't function the way you expect it to Smile

Picked up a Lenovo B50-30 with 2GB memory today for 100 euro. Installed my samsung evo 850 SSD and installed LL3.0 on it. Running fine. Only need to get myself  bit more memory for the laptop.

How can i find out if the memory i need is ddr3 or ddr3l? Also a bit confused about the speed, some sites say 1333mhz and others say 1600mhz.

Hi,

It takes DDR3-L, 8GB Max of Low power 1.35V vs standard 1.5V
A quick Google finds this... It is picky over Memory
this appears to work if you read this

If you have 2GB, then get another 2GB for 4GB,
or
replace the existing 2GB with 2 X 4GB for 8GB

Did read that topic. But as i dont have the touch model i am not sure it will take the same memory. Did do some searches but i only got more confused. So i opened a topic on the lenovo forum to see what they have to say about it.

Thanks for your time to hand a helping hand

Hello!

Glad you found you something that left you some euros for something else!

Yup, Amazon or Ebay should have some RAM at a good price. Enjoy...
