If you look closely, one says "update" and the other does say "upgrade" both in GREEN text.....

I did look closely. The bit before the '|' character) is 'update' in both cases, this part of the command is what we are asking the system to do. The bit after the '|' character beginning 'tee' directs the output to a text file.

What you have done is run the command 'update' twice and directed the output to different text files (update and upgrade).

More important though - what happens if you change repository.
