Sorry it took so long to get back to you on this. Safe to disable this service post-install, even to remove casper altogether.
Fixed in 7.6

Code:
sudo systemctl stop casper-md5check.service
sudo systemctl disable casper-md5check.service

and, or:

Code:
sudo apt remove --purge casper*
