Apparently it didn't make the cut for LL 3.0 along with the Lite Control Center. I noticed once the update check was added to the Lite Control Center, it would take longer to open. Further development on it and the updater for Linux Lite seems to have been halted for now.
But since Linux Mint XFCE appears to have the same updater that the other variants of Linux Mint have, having something for Linux Lite (which also runs the XFCE desktop) and remaining lightweight seems like a possibility. For now, it doesn't get much easier than Menu > Favorites > Install Updates.
