[SOLVED] After installing a window manager, notifications not appearing properly

Nothing here is wrong, in fact you might not be aware. You installed a program called dunst. This has taken over the roll of the normal notifcation tool.

Basicly you need to remove dunst (OR you can google on how to configure it so it looks a bit different)
