Having trouble with internet connectivity. Have changed mirror a couple of times but to no avail. My system is up to date with 4.2 and I have the correct terminal output as advised.

Upgrade successfully performed today. I wonder if the problem yesterday was due to extremely heavy internet traffic due to political events in USA?
However, there is still a problem today: I tried to install updates after the upgrade, and got a message that I was unable to connect to the internet. I was, however, able to go online and use this forum, so not sure what's happening here.
Also, where are the new wallpapers?
Edit: rebooted and this time tried updates from the start menu as opposed to welcome screen. Process proceeded; system already up to date.

Clean install of 4.4 to a new Kingston SSD.
From power on to desktop......14 seconds, with vbox files removed.
This is an old Lenova Thinkcentre core2-duo......Remarkable.

Unfortunately, there's no upgrade path to or from beta releases, per the release announcement for 4.2 and 4.4. You are going to have to do a clean install. Back up your files, note customizations you prefer and install the current 4.4 iso. Then install your backed up files, customize as needed and enjoy.

I'm currently running LL 4.2 on my Dell Latitude E6500 . When I attempt to upgrade to LL 4.4 , I get a message that indicates that LL cannot to the LL master repository. My internet connection is working correctly and I've change repos. in LL software software sources without any luck. I also ran the apt "terminal version check", it checks out OK to what's listed on the forum.
Any suggestions welcome.
Thanks
Mark
PS. my location is southeast US.
