Sending Hardware Information

I see that Ubuntu and UbuMate now have a send hardware info tool, a variation of our Linux innovation. What do you guys think of their variation?

I find it humorous how threatened they are.  Either do or do not.  I prefer to do so for obvious reasons.  Bad joke, Hardware, I suppose may be personal.

If I use one, I will only do this in a distro that have not and will not have applications "call home".
Like Linux Lite of course.

I'm flabergasted how people are oblivious now about trowing there personnal informations, whatever they may be, to whomever ask for them.
Went to a hockey game a while back and people were litteraly lining up to fill out forms to get a credit card... to get a 16x12in team flag. :-O ... even double :-O .
