Greetings and Salutations.

Hello all -

I recently (well somewhat recently) got a laptop from the local recycling center in my town.  Why anyone would throw away a laptop like this boggles the mind.

It's a Samsung ( I don't know what model # it is) but it came with 8 gigs of ram and a Intel i7 ( I believe it's sandybridge based.)
The battery was on it's last leg so i went to ebay and got a new one.
The previous owner removed the old hard drive, which leads me too...

There's a store near me called " Microcenter" that sells computer parts, etc. I got a toshiba/ocz ssd 240 gig and put that into the laptop.
I just installed linuxlite o/s and this pc FLIES! All the hardware was detected...the FN keys for volume/brightness worked right out the of box ( or usb flash drive in my case.) Wink

As for my "linux" knowledge, I'm what you'd call " a newbie of biblical proportions." Big Grin
I look forward to reading up on linuxlite and learning from all you fine folks.
