Jerry,
I managed to "root" and get "TWRP" on my phone...
Then a heart stopping moment, The CM-12 failed loading part way through a "read-error"
My phone re-booted and appeared to be stuck on "Samsung" Logo, "Oh no I've bricked it"
Eventually it re-booted again, So I still have a functional "Samsung" phone.

It could be because I was trying to do from Virtualbox, maybe USB pass through issue, it is a big file.

I will try again when I have a quite moment...

Yeh be careful, rooting and flashing a phone is not for the faint hearted, but once you get used to it, it's like anything else. Just follow instructions to the letter and you'll be fine.

Well I did it directly on the phone... So now have CM12.1 on the Ace3...
So far so good, and I also have R/W access to SD Card withselecting USB storage  Smile
It just calls it 16GB Volume, which it is, a 16GB SD card in phone.
I can live with that... So will mark this closed.

Hmm, never had this issue with stock ROM on a Galaxy Note 3. It's cool to see that you are on CyanogenMod 12. I am too. Smile The usb options in Jelly Bean are kinda archaic.

CM12.1 seems pretty smooth...
The ACE3 is under powered, it is a budget LTE(4G) phone.
I need a new phone but will live with it for now.
