No wps button on my router, no wps pairing (consciously). :D

Either disable the Firewall or see the Help Manual Firewall section for creating a Rule.

I'm trying to solve this with hplip supp. too here https://answers.launchpad.net/hplip/+question/696166. And yes, FW is enabled.

If you have pair wps on your router you need to press this router button.

Jerry:
Support for this printer has been around for a long time, not sure why it is so complicated to install, should be just plug and play, limited set up. Are you running a firewall?
