Howdy all,
Wanted to share with you one of the next updates coming down the pipe in the next few days; Create System Report. Create System Report is part of lite-software. It is one of the few scripts that hasn't seen an update for quite a while so we decided to give it a little love
The upcoming version will allow users to select the parameters to create reports on, and reports will be generated in HTML this time around.

By default all parameters will be selected (although we are considering to deselect a couple of them by default).
Some screenshots below of the reports the application now generates:

The application now tries to identify whether the OS is running in a virtual environment, preventing reports from adding rubbish info about some specific parameters in the system:

And well, a Save dialog to save the HTML generated report

Cheers!

Hello,
does anyone know how to resize so that it fit on the screen ?
Dragging the sides does nothing, dragging the corners resizes it 4mm smaller in width, it need to be approx.
5cm smaller in width.
I am having this problem with a range of software not fitting the screen (being too wide).
The only one I have managed, just about, to resize to fit so far is, Gimp.
What is this version of LL that I have on my ageing laptop - is it 3.2 or 3.4? Alas, /etc/llver says it's '3.0'. I sigh and re-download fresh new 3.4 iso. I run the Live and check llver and, yes, it's still '3.0'. Is there a separate utility for disclosing the full version number??
Deja Dup found a .bus file in my home folder and can't back it up because it has root access only. It reads:
# This file allows processes on the machine with id 467cfa02c550474bb86de9fac8d7106a using
# display :0 to find the D-Bus session bus with the below address.
# If the DBUS_SESSION_BUS_ADDRESS environment variable is set, it will
# be used rather than this file.
# See "man dbus-launch" for more details.
DBUS_SESSION_BUS_ADDRESS=unix:abstract=/tmp/dbus-JIR6g5CC9X,guid=722050251adde564c4ed94de58ec0e7f
DBUS_SESSION_BUS_PID=11377
DBUS_SESSION_BUS_WINDOWID=27262977
What is it? Should I delete it or just tell Deja Dup to ignore it? :-\
Hello My name is Costin and I am from Romania,for years all I am looking for a Linux distribution to be stable and have long support.
It seems that linux lite is by now a very good distribution,i'm glad to be part of the community until the end of time.
I work in a company selling laptops and computers and every time,'m trying to convince the people that there is an alternative to Windows.

I'm thinking about getting a new SSD drive for my aging desktop pc. But i don't have a clue how i would install Linux Lite 3.4 or any other linux distro on it. Could someone point me in the direction of an easy to follow tutorial please. Thanks
I'm not sure if this is the place for this post. If it's not, please forgive me
I installed LL 3.4 a few days ago and find two little "problems" that I think can be easy fix to function out of the box:
- When trying to create a compressed file directly from Thunar (right click in the mouse on the file) an error occurred and the system told me that there was no application for that action. I find out that the MIME types for the compressed files where not set up for File Roller, hence the error. I assigned them to File Roller and the problem was solved.
- When I tried to change some hotkeys I realized that there are some key-shortcuts that call for applications that are not installed in Linux Lite. I removed them and created some of my own. My suggestion is to make sure the shortcuts call Linux Lite Applications, and not others that are not there.
I hope this will help you make an even better distro, because I'm really happy with it. My old Dell Mini Inspiron 1018 is flying, thanks to all of you.
Hi,
How do I get window animations for minimizing/maximizing windows?
Best regards
Søren
Recently, every time I run Lite Tweaks I now receive "an error has occured" message.
I have run each of the "SAFE" options individually and have determined that the option that is causing this error message is the Autoremove Packages module.
This is a recent occurence and I would appreciate any assistance in resolving this issue before I upgrade to LL 3.4
