Hello!

Im kinda new with LL but Im having sort of an issue (not sure if it is actually an issue) but here it is: Every time I start my pc it will show a default keyring to unlock and the wifi wont stay connected when the pc goes off and on, so, I enter the wifi password but instantly when I hit enter the "default keyring to unlock" message appears.

I have searched for help but I found something related to everytime chrome is opened, and that is not my issue.

thanks in advance ppl.

OK, I had to post this. albeit useless Wink

It was long but I successfully installed Linux Lite on a Pentium 3, 10GB HDD annnd, wait for it... 2-5-6 MBs of ultrafast RAM! Wink
It rebooted fine, was able to crawl and do updates and reboot too.
"Using"  the computer is another story though, almost anything is so slow that it "looks" crashed, but it's not.

I usually don't install under 1GB RAM on real crappy config but I didnt have any SDRAM RAM (ouch).
The project was too tempting. Wink, even though the laptop was giving to a guy just wanting to have a serial port to control an external device. /_ () /_

Cheers!

Hello! I'm going nuts trying to get a WiFi connection for Linux Lite 3.8

I am a total newbie to Linux. Just sent XP out to pasture and wish to replace it with Linix.
Tried Zorin, Q4OS, and now LL 3.8.
Please understand, my previous experience with solving PC issues has been limited to Malwarebytes, CCleaner, and best of all, Restore Image via Macrium Reflect. These have all served me very well and I never ran into a problem I could not fix with these tools (including, but rarely, RUN Commands).
I am seeing a lot of wireless connection problems with Linux and in almost every case, involve Terminal command entries totally Greek to me.
I have a Nano USB Adapter TL-WN725N from TP-Link, and has always worked flawlessly in XP on ,my Dell Dimension 2400.
My internet service is with Comcast via their Gateway Modem.
My ethernet controller is a Broadcom Corp. BCM4401 100 Base-T (1404:4401) (Rev o21), Subsystem Dell Dimension 2400 [1028:8127]. Kernel Driver in use - b44.
Whether this info is relevant or not, I have no idea, but found it following 'Lspci -knn | grep -EiA2 net' command i saw for a fix for a similar problem with a laptop.
Linux Lite has not detected my adapter, nor does it appear anywhere in System Information information about your hardware.
This same problem also happened with Zorin. In Q4OS, the adapter was detected but would not connect to the internet despite excellent support help from the Q4OS team and several user/contributors.
Keeping in mind my neophyte level of experience with this problem and Linux in general, is there anyone here who can help?
Thank you reading this post. I am eager to find someone who can guide me to a solution.
Sincerely

Hi everyone,
I am a recent windows 10 refugee.  A while back the hard drive on my laptop crashed.  My knee jerk response was to go out and buy a new one.  I had been used to win7 and tolerated it (in a prefect world I wouldn’t own any computer).  I became so disgusted with win10 that I started researching alternatives.  My search led me to the concept of open source software, and Linux Lite specifically, which resonates with me much more than the prevalent consumerist mentality. It also inspired the confidence to go back to my old laptop and resurrect it with a new hard drive (1TB HDD).  I chose Linux Lite as my gateway distro. Everything went smooth and its more responsive than it ever was. So now I have 2 laptops. A couple days ago I decided to keep the new one and put Mint on it as the sole os.  I’m sure I will have many questions from here on out. I’m not a very technology savvy person (for me book, pen, and paper come first).  The terminal especially freaks me out. All that said, I’m happy to be here and hopefully I won’t try your  patience too much.

Thank You Linux Lite team! I may even start enjoying technology now!

After updating from v5.0.40, my windows xp virtual machine stops with an error dialogue during boot, and when I click 'OK', linuxLite locks up. Everything I can find about the error is on Intel based systems, but mine is AMD.

Buongiorno a tutti.

Cordialement.
