I first used LL at version 3.2. All upgrades to 3.8 worked just fine. I then installed v 4.0. Now I am trying to upgrade to v 4.2, but so far have failed. When I try the various routes I just get told that I am about to upgrade to version 3.8!! Right. One comment for any problems with moving to v 42. suggested that I could wait for 24 hours and try again. That was three days ago, and it still will not work for me. I checked to see which version I have of lite-upgrade-series and it is still at version 3. I am not sure where to look next.

I really enjoy running Linux Lite 4 and also enjoy using YouTube. But the problem for me is YouTube = Google.

I'm always on the lookout for an alternative to YouTube and i thought i had finally found it in DTube.  The problem here is that you have to register with steemit before you can register with DTube? When i have tried to register with steemit nothing happens?

Has anyone successfully registered with steemit? Would really appreciate any help here.
Thanks.

I am having this small issue with fans running too much and I have noticed that sensors only shows me temp and not fan speed so I ran sudo senors-detect but have not finished because the little guide I am following says to not do it if my drivers are built into kernel.(Before you answer, look in your kernel configuration file to see if the drivers are built-in, or are loadable modules. If they are built-in then don't modify /etc/modules. If they are modules, then modify /etc/modules. So basically I am stuck not really knowing if I sould answer yes at the end of sudo sensors-detect or not so any advice would be great.

Hello all. This is my first post. Hope it’s in the right spot. I’ve been aware of Linux Lite since version 3.8. I recently installed version 4.0 on a few laptops and a desktop I have. I intend to give these away to people who need them, but aren’t to techie or self inclined. I personally enjoy using Linux Lite as it works well for me on older hardware in comparison to Ubuntu, which I have used for years. So, my question that I have is:
When the upgrades happen within a series, will I get a automatic notification letting me know, or will I have to manually check lite upgrades to see if one is available? My thought is, with me giving these pc’s away, how hard is it gonna be for the end users to keep the system up to date with the upgrades every 5 months or so. So far on my own desktop, I haven’t gotten a notification that 4.2 is available. Should I  have gotten an automatic notification? I have turned on automatic daily update notifications, but does that also cover upgrades too? Just wanted to figure that out. I haven’t got an automatic notification pop up for updates or upgrades as of yet. My updates notify is set to daily at 7pm. Manually checking will produce updates needed, and manually checking upgrades will show that 4.2 is available. If possible I  would like to see a pop up saying a new version is available. Is that suppose to happen? Thanks for any and all feedback.

Speaking of gaming on Linux, I believe we should first of all begin with listing the clean native Linux titles, perhaps primarily with those available in the repository. Any notable mentions?

You may call it a "chronic flex", to me, I am just trying to spread the word, HERE is a guide on how to make Quake2 run on Linux without respirator.

EDIT:

In fact, all classic iD software games have the support of game-data-packager, but Quake2 is remarkably neat and well done with the modern, cross-platform and multicompatible Yamagi sourceport at hand. Other games feature Doom^3, which unfortunately slugs even under the Dhewm^3 sourceport, Quake 4 which suffers an audio eclipse due to lack of modern sourceport involved, as well as - to be understood - the classic Doom arrays, Wolfenstein representatives and perhaps some few other, which I did not try.

Just wanted to say the aesthetic integrity and design of the LinuxLite is superb and this is one of the things which got me lured into using Linux, but not simply the Linux, as in particular the LinuxLite. I can hardly name any distro which I would turn to in case Jerry decided to be a professional golfist instead of a software engineer involved with Linux. Maybe I would give the basic Debian a shot, maybe.
