VMWare Workstation 15.0.4 on LL 4.4 not working Kernel 5.0

I am trying to get VMWare 15 working on LL 4.4 with the 5.0 kernel since my hardware is basically new.
It installed perfectly fine. When I go to run it I get a message saying "before you can run vmware, several modules must be compiled and loaded into the running kernel"
It gets to the end and says it cannot start services.
This is the vmware log I get afterwards.
System Specs: Intel 9700k, Intel z370 Chipset, AMD WX7100 Pro Video Card, 1TB NVME drive

I mean something like windows repair disc. It would be easy to to add a option to reinstall only system but leave /home untouched. It would also help updating to the next series or from another linux based distro. I have seen many users with unfixable system but they don't want to loose their own data or copy it to another location

Printer not quite installing

I have a Brother MFC-J470DW printer. In most Debian-based distros, it installs fine. In LinuxLite 4.4, it appears to install but does not generate a test print and does not print after that. I think the scanner works. I also have this issue in Bodhi 5.0.0, so it's not really a new issue and I'm pretty sure if I find the solution to one, the same solution will work for the other.
It could be worse. I can't install this printer at all in Solus. But it works for most .rpm and .deb package managers.

Kodi 18.1 broken file in repo

I just installed Linux Lite 4.4 a few days ago. I have had very few problems, and none of them are critical.
When I installed, the repo still had Kodi 17.3. I knew that 18.1 was current, so I followed the rules (re: Ubuntu distros) to add the repo and update. It failed, I think it was the kodi-x11 file. So I deleted and started over, noticing that the repo was also updated to 18.1 (I love Synaptic, btw). Same problem. Sometimes I get the result that the linuxliteos repos are not available, others it just fails.
Is there a fix for this?
Update: I just tried again, and got the same issue. It chokes on kodi-x11, then returns the message, E: Internal Error, No file name for kodi:amd64

I assumed that one of the advanteges of Linux Lite was precisely the fact that it is well suited to run on old hardware. Then why the developers decided to discontinue the 32 bit version. Isn't it a countersense?

I'm 25, and a university graduate considering a freelance job. I would've gone by my usual screen name Subnormal Halfspy (My friends and particularly close acquaintances call me Subby), but LL's character limit on the computer username made me decide to use my other nickname instead. I do art for a hobby right now, and I work best with vector graphics. Inkscape is my go-to program for it.
As you can guess, I am a complete beginner with Linux Lite, both the OS and the forum boards-- But I'm definitely familiar with at least the most basic of Linux distribution experience. My ASUS A53S laptop (which has since then seen a replaced motherboard, hard disk drive and RAM upgrade from 4GB to 8GB) has been in use for almost a decade (half of its lifetime spent with my older brother). Windows was pretty much a thing on this laptop back then, but Windows 10's various issues caused my laptop (and by extent, myself) nearly no end of suffering. Decided to have another go at Ubuntu (I used the regular flavor several versions back) via Ubuntu MATE, but I still had issues with it too.
When I heard of Linux Lite, I immediately flashed a USB drive with its live installation and it clicked with me ever since. I can say that this is a nice transition from Windows since I grew up with it, and it's good to see a similar, but familiar desktop environment. I still struggle with some stability issues (being forced to initramfs boot, difficulties partitioning my hard drive to the point I had to return a split drive partition back to the main one, having to run recovery mode after it failing to boot several times), but other than that, I definitely still like it here more than when I used Windows.
I'd probably mostly lurk around and read threads instead of actually posting more since I'm more comfortable with social media, but if there's something particularly interesting going on in the forums or I'll need further assistance with this OS in general, I may hop in once in a while! Pleased to meet you all.
