Hi.
Does anyone know a tool to put encrypt/putting passwords on existing PDF files? Both gui tool and non-gui tool work for me.
Normally my PDF files is generated either by the built-in pdf printer in Linux, or by export from Inkscape.
I tried to install Brave browser in my Linux desktop by following an online guide/article. I apparently did not correctly follow the instructions as I ended up corrupting my package sources. Now, I cannot update nor install any application. I cannot restore because I have not installed Timelight or similar ones.
Please, please help. Here is what the terminal says:
E: Malformed entry 2 in list file /etc/apt/sources.list.d/brave.list (Component)
E: The list of sources could not be read.

To get the latest Nvidia drivers in Ubuntu LTS versions, you don’t have to use PPA anymore. The latest drivers will now be available in the repositories of the Ubuntu LTS versions.

Running Lite 4.4 on a HP desktop.
Under Settings/Mouse & Touchpad/Acceleration,
the Acceleration slider has no effect
on my mouse's acceleration.
This is the case with both a wired and a wireless mouse.
I have to use the xinput command to change the mouse acceleration.
Using xinput works fine with both the wired and wireless mice,
although the acceleration property is worded differently between the two types.
Could this be a bug, or am I overlooking something.
I have tried 2 wireless mice and 4 wired mice and
get the same result, which is that the slider has no effect.
Edit: After researching this problem, it appears to be a bug
in ubuntu 18.04, which was corrected in ubuntu 18.10.
So, it seems the only way to change the mouse acceleration
is with the xinput command and to keep it set, put the command
in application startup.

After installing Linux Lite 4.4, the initial update list seems to be very long
and it takes quite a while for the updates to install.
It would be very nice if there were a periodically updated snapshot .iso file
(perhaps once a month) that would include all the updates.
If you're just installing on your own personal computer, no big deal, but
if you're installing Lite on numerous other computers from time to time,
it would sure be a time saver.
solved :'( HELP ?
I need to re-generate Open PGP keys for my launchpad digital signature...
Where is the key generator located in Linux Lite 4.4 ? :'(
An OpenPGP (also called GnuPrivacyGuard) key allows me to sign documents, such as emails or text files, using a digital key.

Hi Jerry,
I was wondering if it's ok for me to sell a custom built computer with Linux Lite pre-installed locally.
I would donate every time I do it but don't want to violate a license.
Hey all, I installed 4.4 (first time Linux user, new to forum etiquette as well, so correct me as needed
) onto my Lenovo Ideapad S145 and I can't find any networks on Wi-Fi. My only option at the moment is the tethering hotspot on my phone. When I try to install drivers it says there are no additional drivers , and I can't find any way to interact with or install proprietary drivers.
In the BIOS menus I switched from UEFI to Legacy so I don't even have the option to turn off Secure Boot ( When I switch to UEFI with Secure Boot turned off I get an error basically saying there's nothing to boot).
Trying to figure out what I should try next. If I'm leaving out any info I'll gladly provide, just may need some help with pulling it up for you!
Thanks in advance!
