  Lite tweaks - Can't hide hibernate/suspend buttons
Posted by: Crimson_Raven - 03-25-2020, 03:56 PM - Forum: Other - Replies (1)

Hey guys!
Basically, as the title says, I don't seem to be able to hide the hibernate and suspend buttons from Lite tweaks tool. It launches, suspiciously enough, doesn't ask for admin password, and says it needs to reboot to apply changes. Denying just sends me back to its menu, letting it restart doesn't seem to do anything, the buttons are still there.
I'm using Linux Lite 4.8 x64, booting from my USB drive. It's not the default boot option, if it matters at all.
Any ideas are welcome! Perhaps there is another way to do this, perhaps via terminal or editing a config file?

  error whenever updating
Posted by: LarryB1607 - 03-24-2020, 05:25 PM - Forum: Installing Linux Lite - Replies (4)

I get the same error every time I update.  When I go back to retry, it says my system is up to date.  Maybe so, but I cannot help but think that these all get put into a log and then not tried again.  Any way to be sure I am up to date and stop the error from happening.  Thanks

  No sound after use Headphones
Posted by: Steff260 - 03-23-2020, 09:11 PM - Forum: Sound - Replies (5)

I have no sound on my laptop when playing DVD. Use VLC media player.
Sound also does not work for movies over the Internet in the Firefox browser.

Problem occurred when I wanted to watch with headphones. Headphones connected to laptop. Sound was hardly audible, even at maximum volume.  Headphones removed again. Then I wanted to continue watching the movie with laptop speakers. All of a sudden no sound anymore. Movie plays normally.

Where or what could I look up? Change which settings?

Thanks for your help

I store a very large amount of info on this disk. Please help.

  Need help with PlayOnLinux
Posted by: baiselmareo6 - 03-23-2020, 10:29 AM - Forum: Other - Replies (5)

Hi guys, I am a new-ish linux user running linux-lite. I just installed wine and PlayOnLinux to install a windows app (SPSS) and the process seemed to have been concluded succesfully

However, I cant find the application. I tried re-installing it but the 'virtual drive' used by PlayOnLinux can be seen and I can attempt to repair the installed application through running the setup again, but I cant use it.192.168.0.1 routerlogin 192.168.l.l

I'm sure I am missing something. Any help will be really appreciated.

Thanks.

hi folks,

not able to get Linus Lite to recognize the webcam on my ancient 2006 MSI U100 laptop... tried the usual tricks like running Cheese and typing "sudo usermod -a -G video [username]" in Command Line... nothing works...

any advice appreciated... Linux Lite working very well on the old warhorse otherwise...

thanks much...
