Solved: Can't extract .gz packages

Looks like that is correct. I just checked a doc I had amended this morning, and the changes were still there. Good to know.

FFS has a learning curve, but I'm liking it. I open it as admin and it has all the functions and remembers the jobs as it should. Otherwise it's a little crippled.

By default, it looks like Systemback excludes the home directory.  You can add that directory/subdirectories if you click on the Include button.  But for file backups, I'm still using Deja Dup (the default backup utility for Linux Lite).  Will put FreeFileSync in my quiver.

Ok, this time I did a Full Restore in Systemback, rather than Settings only, as last time. And it looks like I'm back in business. (I had tried reinstalling the archive manager, with no results.) I used FreeFileSync to mirror my user folder, so if anything is missing there I can restore it (not sure how Systemback treats user files).

I'm not in front of my LL machine right now, so I don't remember what archive tool comes with LL.  You might need to reinstall it or have your Thunar plugin for it reinstalled.  Googling your error (no suitable archive manager found), there are several hits.

Yes, I have those context menu options, but I get an error saying "no suitable archive manager found". This is something new.

Are you not able to right click on the *.gz file and see Extract Here or Extract To options?  Are you not able to open the Archive Manager?

Wondering if I did something to my system. The other day I made the mistake of doing a "system upgrade" within SystemBack. Lovely program, but I wish it had better documentation. My fault, but I was careless and let it remove some stuff.


Now I can't extract .gz files. I think I was able to before. Is that correct? I did a System Restore using SB, but it didn't help this problem.
