If you don't have virtualbox installed, you can go into Synaptic and remove all references to it, this will speed up boot and shutdown too. Certain virtualbox packages are installed during LL's creation to ensure virtualbox testing support.@Coastie, what version do you have? Do vboxmanage --version in terminal.
Hi Coastie,I noticed that there is a service which starts for Virtualbox even if you don't have/install Virtualbox.I can only assume it is an integral part of Ubuntu,and is present in the event that you are actually doing an install as a "Guest OS" in Virtualbox.
