Thank you for your response, it was not for changing the native language.
To show what is happening, I added the Arabic language, and without dragging or anything else, it was added by the system in the third row as you see in the capture, and able to use it, but dragging the Armenian language anywhere apart from the top doesn't work.
I can add the Arabic language in the ibus preferences, but the Amenian language is not even in the list to be added.
It must be something with the system that it is not accepting to add the Armenian language.

Mind you, I had no problems in adding/using other languages when I started with Linux Lite 1 or previously Ubuntu, this is happening with Linux Lite 2.

Thank you again for your assistance, please consider this thread as closed.

I assumed you wanted your native language system wide too. There doesn't appear to be an Armenian language selection in Ibus. The only information I could find was here - http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=2105830

Dragging the Language to the top then clicking on "apply system wide" has changed the whole system's language to Armenian.

May be I am explaining / asking the wrong way, all I want is to switch the keyboard from English to Armenian and back when I am writing, and not the whole system.

Thank you.

You've missed some steps on the Language guide in the Help Manual. Please go over the tutorial again to ensure that no steps are missed, for example moving Armenian to the top.

Thank you Jerry for your response.
Yes I had a look before I asked, that procedure is to apply system wide.
I need to switch between English/Armenian on the same page, but on the taskbar's iBus icon shows only two English - English (US) lines, and in the preferences input method, showing all languages, the Armenian is not there.
Thank you.

Have you looked in the Help Manual under Setting Language?

Hi All, being a newbie, I need assistance to add and work with Armenian language in Linux Lite 2.2

Here is the issue:

* Downloaded and installed the Armenian language package via Language Support.
* Added the Armenian language in the Keyboard layout.
* Ibus is selected.
* Ibus preferences input methods, the "Customize active input methods" is checked.
* Drop down the :Select input method >>> show all input methods, the Armenian language is not there.

Where have I gone wrong or what is missing ?

Thank you in advance for your assistance  :)
