It should still be the same memory...

Crucial Memory or Kingston Memory

Probably find it on Amazon.??

FYI, for future reference, the link Wirezfree provided for Crucial Memory shows you can go up to 16GB of memory.

That link is for laptops with the 4th gen intel processors. I got the celeron processor and that can only have a max of 8GB

Hi...

Seems you are sorted... for reference this is the type of memory that was installed, from the info you posted.

Given you have 8GB, there is every probability your system will use very little or any swap file now.

Unless you plan to use hibernate/sleep, just let it run per the other user comments...
I'm guessing with SSD & 8GB you should get a desktop showing pretty quick from power on... :) :)

That is exactly the memory that was installed.
The laptop boots completely in just under 20 seconds

See how it works without changing it.  If things run okay, leave as is.

If you're really particular about it, you can always create a live system backup using Systemback, and just reinstall using that live backup.  As part of the restoration using that live system backup, you can give your SWAP partition a different size.

Thanks for your answer. I will leave it as it is for now.

I didnt thought about creating a larger swap at the time i installed LL. But what to do now? Just leave it lie it is, increase it...how? or delete the swap..again how?

When letting the Linux Lite installer run with defaults, it seems to choose a swap size equivalent to one's current amount of RAM, so that's what I configure when I use the "Something else" option.  In fact, for my laptop, I made the swap equivalent to the amount of RAM I was expecting to get.  My RAM wasn't maxed out at the time.

It feels like a waste sometimes, but I heard if you want to hibernate the PC, it's good to have the swap size equal to the amount of RAM.  I'm sure there are a lot of opinions on this, but so far, this is the habit I've developed.

Just thought of something. When i installed LL on the laptop it had 2gb memory, during installation there was a swap partition created of 1.89GB. But now the laptop has 8GB of memory, should i increase swap, leave it as it is or maybe even delete it?

Personally I would scrap / resell the 2 GB memory and buy a matched pair of 4GB.

Suggest you contact them direct just to double check.  Serial number of your Lenovo might be worth noting.

Glad you found you something that left you some euros for something else!

Yup, Amazon or Ebay should have some RAM at a good price. Enjoy...
