This is what I do:

Right-click Menu, then Properties, and under Appearance, in the Title field, you will see the word 'Menu'.

Simply change 'Menu' to read '<span>   Menu     </span>' without the quotes.

Use as many spaces either side of 'Menu' as you like. In this exaggerated example, I've used three spaces before and five after.

Hello Ashley,

I am unsure how to adjust the Menu text box width, I may have another solution.

Right Click on the Panel and select Panel>Panel Preferences.
Click the tab in the GUI named "items"
Click the "+" on the right to Add a new item to the panel
Highlight "Separator" and Click "Add" then "Close"
Scroll down the items list to the end there will appear the newly added Separator.
Click on this x1 left click to highlight it.
Click the Up Arrow in the right of the GUI several times until it moves this Separator all the way to closest to the Menu.
Whilst the Separator is Highlighted in the list , click on the Paper icon on the right of GUI.
In the New GUI, click on the drop down menu arrow to the right of "Style", from this select "Transparent"
and Click Close for this GUI , then close for the Panel GUI.

This will insert a empty space between the Menu and first Panel Launch icon, to increase this space size you can tick the box named "Expand" in the GUI where you edited to transparent, this is an auto space size.
If you want more control over the space instead of ticking this simply add additional separators in the same way, until the space size is how you want your LL to look.

Hi,

Sorry if this has already been asked, not sure how to phrase it in search; but I'm kinda OCD about design and the U in 'Menu' text is WAY too close to the first quick launch icon. I was wondering how I could possibly edit the margin on that button ( that being the 'start' menu ).

I just want it to have more space. please?

I apologize If I've wasted anyone's time, just thought this would be the best place to ask.

Loving this distro ( came fro elementary, the king of bugs ) so far. very eloquent build!

thanks lads and lasses,
Ashley!
