Linux Lite and tabletPCs

Thanks folks for the replies and info.  After some more research and trying out some Distos and programs on the tc4400 i guess I am going to (man, I hate to say this ...)  continue running Windows on this box.  I will of course run Linux on all my other computers, but even the most tablet friendly Distros are currently limited by handwriting recognition software.  The best seems to be cellwriter; there were others under development in the past but they seem to have been abandoned, some others I could not successfully install.


As much as I hate to say it the MS handwriting recognition out of the box, even of rather sloppy cursive is pretty amazing, even without "training" the software.  I guess they have been at it a long time and thrown a lot of $ at it, none the less, impressive.


On one hand I can understand this; to a degree stylus/handwriting recognition was a fad of sorts and seemed to be fizzling.  On the other hand after looking at handwriting recognition in a new sense (MS "Ink") there again seem to be a lot of potential:

I hope if this is the case that Linux doesn't miss the boat on it.

Give it a go, it's got USB on it
If the WiFi doesn't work straight off, you have a LAN connector also.
You may even find the SD Card slot works...

I bought an HP tc4400 a while back, and there is a fair amount of info about installing Linux on this machine, but the info is pretty old (as is the machine).  It's a cool little unit though and I was thinking about putting Linux Lite on it.


Ubuntu seems to be one of the more "tablet and tablet/pc friendly Distros".  I know LL uses a pretty heavily modified kernel and was wondering if LL retains some of the tablet features of Ubuntu, such as Wacom drivers by default, etc.


Any thoughts or experience with this anyone?
